Becoming an Effective Servant Leader

About the Presentation

The idea of a leader serving his or her people is not new. Many significant figures in history have employed servant leadership – Mahatma Gandi, Mother Theresa, and Nelson Mandela are a few examples.

With the re-emergence of the empowered, self-organized team, servant leadership has been brought back to the spotlight, from the writings of Robert K. Greenleaf and his seminal publication “Servant Leadership” in 1977.

Since then, a large number of research studies have been performed about the effectiveness of servant leadership, not only on people, but also to the organization. In this course, we will review the key areas of servant leadership styles and how you can become an effective leader for your project teams.

This course will review the different common methods of leadership and take a closer look at servant leadership – its history, its 6 critical components and the unique traits of effective servant leaders. Lastly, you will learn some practical tips on how to maintain effectiveness.
