With Dr. Willis H. Thomas, PMP, CPT

Abstract

Looking at Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from a quality perspective represents emerging knowledge in the area of Human Capital Investment (HCI). HCI recognizes that employees within the organization are not equal (i.e., key talent) and that the quality of an employee’s work performance can be improved by investing in them. Emerging perspectives on HCI consider both Return on Investment (ROI) and Return on Quality (ROQ).

Return on Quality (ROQ) is an important concept for organizations to embrace as they strive to assess the value of initiatives they invest in.

This white paper explores under, above and around the box concepts to measuring ROQ, while reviewing the benefits of utilizing mix method approaches for measurement and evaluation.
